Very enjoyable. Reminded me of my childhood (grew up in the 90's). It felt like a very polished game that would have been on the Sega Genesis or SNES. I almost didn't buy it because people were complaining it was too difficult. It is not. You will likely die more than a few times in medium difficulty mode, but it is fair. Once you figure out the boss's strategy, it gets pretty easy.

The only real compaint I can think of is the soccer mini game is unnecessarily difficult, but I won on my second try and winning doesn't really give you anything too important, so it doesn't really detract from the game.

Also, the storytelling is great! There is no dialog or voice overs, but I feel like I understand the premise of this game better than that of many games with very highend story telling tools such as over-the-top cut scenes and constant dialog. It's tough to explain, but the symbolism implies an incredible amount of detail. As they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words" and the team that put this together made great use of ever pixel.

All-in-all, fantastic game.

Great RTS if you like games like Supreme Commander and Total Annihilation. Good campaign and multiplayer is very active.

Novel game. Not too hard to pick up, although I'd recommend the tutorials, but will be very difficult to master from what I've seen so far. The games are short, which is nice, because I engage in capitalism IRL.

Seriously though, good concept, crisp, fast. When I first saw it, I thought, "That looks like fun, but I don't want to sink another 10,000 hours into a Civ clone." It's a RTS (which it is tagged as) but is unique. There is a lot to do and a great deal of strategy that goes into a win. Haven't tried multiplayer yet, but I have a feeling I'm not that good even though I crush the AI. I've played many, many RTS and turn-based strategy games and, after playing this one for a bit, can definitely recommend it.

I'm almost completely new to the game. I played very beliefly (like 2-3 hours) a couple years ago and thought this was just a Terraria clone with a lot of potential to be more. I saw that 1.0 was released and decided to give it a shot.

The amount of progress and work that went into this game since I first played for a couple hours at a friends house years ago is staggering. This is not a Terraria clone anymore; not by a longshot. It seems to hold true to the genre in many ways, but has (what seems to be) a deep linear story that can/should be played before the endgame that I'm guessing will be much like Terraria, except with infinite procedurally generated worlds to explore and alter. I would definitely recommend buying it, with the limited experience I have had so far, if you are a fan of Terraria or the genre in general.

From reading the other reviews, I understand that a lot was sacrificed to get to 1.0. If you are fresh to the game, you will not have the mixed emotions those that have been here from the beginning seem to have (they either love it or hate it, nothing in between).

Also, I have not had any issues with latency as mentioned in some of the other reviews, but I have a pretty powerful computer with a couple 280x video cards in it, an AMD FX 8350 processor, and 36GB of DDR3 RAM (If you don't know what I just said, my computer is probably 100x more powerful than yours. If you do, you're probably laughing at me ;) ). Basically what I am saying is I don't have any issues, but if I did, the developer would have some pretty serious problems on their hands.

Anyway, I can see myself putting an insane amount of time into this game and am hoping it will continue to be as enjoyable as it has been since I got it. I've been playing for 8 hours straight. For most gamers, this probably doesn't seem like much, but it is a monumental achievement for a game to grasp my attention like that these days.

Seems pretty cool so far; well made. In regards to the key issue other reviewers mentioned, I ran into it as well (I am a new user) briefly. I almost asked for a refund but decided to try and boot the game a second time. Not sure why it worked, but it worked. This was 5-10 minutes after downloading.
