Definitely one of the more interesting takes on the emerging 'survival sandbox' subgenre, Don't Starve sets itself apart by placing the emphasis firmly on the 'survival' part of this equation, and the result is a rather entertaining (though, at the time of writing, incomplete)wilderness romp that affords the player freedom of choice without compromising on tough rouguelike-like survival challenges. The decidedly Burton-esque aesthetic is a nice addition, and at times more than a little chilling. Brr.
This one does something different, and does it very well. The campaign's mix of roleplaying and tactical battle has not been seen in a similar fashion anywhere else, and the player's opportunities are many and diverse, making the game highly enjoyable even after extended playtime. The multiplayer, while my experience of it is somewhat limited, is also unique and fun, and very much worth trying out.
