L4D 2, not a quality game
I've started this group to express my dissatisfaction with valve and L4D 2. I paid my $55 thinking that they had put things right by finally supporting L4D like promised. I decided to believe that they had created a game worth being a standalone. I thought a lot of stuff that didn't turn out.
If you feel that your $$$ bought you a finished version of L4D with L4D 2, here is the place to let your thoughts be known! I supported the L4D 2 boycott, but they assured us that valve had fixed everything (and that it was okay to go buy the game now)... in reality valve just created another L4D and sure fooled the guys at L4D 2boycott.
Why L4D 2 isn't worth your $$$ and pisses you off...
-Engine error. I get this every day, causing the game to crash
-I'm stuck in a tree (or something else). Very unfinished
-"Save me bot!" Oh, wait, the bots seem to have less intelligence than L4D 1 (which wasn't much)
-Oh what, the big bad charger just got stopped by a sock? Wow these physics are soooo realistic.
-Oh wait... almost EVERYTHING that pissed me off about L4D 1 was not fixed or made better!
Anyways, that's about all I can think of for reasons for now. In terms of why we don't think this game was worth our money?
-Game is extremely buggy and considering I run into multiple bugs every day, this is not what is usually considered "ready" by many software creators.
-The new AI director sounds grea, but what about improving on the NPC's AI to actually give them intelligence?
-No new substantial work to the game. We have new weapons, infected, maps, and well, this one sort of counts, a new AI director. Overall there are very few new features that aren't just a 'mod' or 'addon.'
-Valve support is extremely non-consumer friendly. I still haven't heard a word back from them and the first 'patch' didn't fix many of the problems.
