Early Access Review
Single player this game is fun. You find the right the server and the multiplayer is amazing. There is so much potential in this game and the devs have came a long long way with it so far.

I get a good start on the starter planet and finally am able to explore the galaxy in my new Capital Vessel. I venture out to explore.....So I am currently marooned on a planet in multiplayer. My capital ship took some serious damage wiping out my warp core and I do not have materials to repair it. I land my ship in a remote spot and start scrapping the flight pieces to make necessary components for survival. Grow lights for food. Steel blocks to patch the holes to the outside etc. The ship is now grounded and acting as a mini base. Everything on this planet is hostile to me and I have to get out there and build myself back up to get off this stupid rock. I have a few bullets and a small vessel to navigate the planet. A new adventure begins.....

I am really enjoying this game so far. I purchased a humble bundle that started me off with 20 orbs (packs) and that may have had an impact on my initial experience with the game. The game mechanics are very interesting. It plays like your typical TCG except you summon your creatures onto a grid and each one moves and attacks each turn. So it basically combines games like MTG, Hearthstone, WoW tcg etc with miniture games like warhammer, clix etc.

I am a big fan of retro style graphics, however I think they should be cleaned up a little. I experience more eyestrain with this game than any others. Other than that I have not as of yet found any other "Con" to this game.

I never played the original. But this game is well worth the 5 dollars that its on sale for right now. Sort of a Diablo 2 clone in game play and drops. But the progression system makes the game unique and you gotta love the greek mythology lore. I'd play this over diablo 3 and I preordered that trash lol.

My immediate impression of this game was "oh no, another MTG rip off". But although there are noticeable similarities, it is a very different game. The only problem I have so far is server instability. I get disconnected a ton and this results in lost games. I cannot bring myself to invest any actual money into the game until I feel secure that it will not be wasted due to server instability. Aside from that. The quest/free to play system for earning your cards is nice and balanced. I am not sure why so many of these virtual card games do not include a trading aspect. Who cares if people start selling singles its just going to make your pack sales increase. Instead there is a decent crafting system, where you use your mana sources, similar to lands in MTG, as a currency to break down and create new cards. If you are a card game and strategy fan then I highly recommend giving this a go.

Bottom line:

This was one of the first early access games I remember seeing on steam.

From the start the gameplay was nothing like the videos.

Waited years on development to provide the game they portrayed in the videos.

Last update was one year ago almost to the day that I am writing this review.

And even though the developers false advertised their game, Steam refuses to refund money for this game because we gave them time to deliver on their promise.

In the two years that I have owned the game, I have not even put 1 and a half hours into this piece of garbage.

Unlike others, I did not let this game deter me from investing in early access games. There are a ton of really good ones with dedicated honest developers. So please support indie gaming.

However, DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!!!!

Early Access Review
Absolutely the best early access alpha that I have purchased. This game delivers tons of fun and sometimes you forget that its still considered an alpha. I have over 200 hours on record and I have not once experienced any hacking problems that I have seen other people mention. This leaves me to believe that these incidents are few and far between. The latest updates have added sort of a MMO feel with a basic leveling system that affects the quality on items you craft, and a wellness "level" that determines your max HP and Stamina. Wellness can increase or decrease, while levels only increase.

Single player/coop and the larger multiplayer servers give you two completely different experiences. The former being completely PVE focused. All zombies spawn on or around you, on 7th day you always get a feral horde. The game is more about survival and base defense. While the latter you will see less random zombie spawns, feral hordes are limited and spawn randomly on different survivors in the server, but you have PVP to worry about. Multiplayer also gives you more of an option in building intricate structures for your base with the zombie spawns being so spread out due to server population.

All settings are customizable per game or server. So these experiences will vary. This is just my opinion of the default game settings and most popular server settings. Anyone can make the game easier or more difficult, pvp or pve only, etc.

The biggest downside that I have seen is that the developers seem to have huge content plans for this game, and do not want to release it until they add it all. So they seem to focus more on adding content and less on polishing. With a little polishing I think this game could be released as a completed first installment and be worth every penny. Other content could be added later as DLC. But hey I am a gamer not a developer or a business man, so what do I know? LOL

This is my first Review. I started playing this game on Friday and put 28 hours into it by Sunday morning. This software is a simple yet amazing concept. Board game lovers everywhere should purchase Tabletop Simulator. There are over 2000 mods in the workshop that replicate some of your favorite games. Anyone can create or import their own boardgames. The community so far seems amazing. I've encountered only 2 or 3 "trolls". I used the term "trolls" loosely because a couple of them were just children being children. The host options let you rewind, kick, ban etc so that they have very little influence on the rest of the game. I highly recommend this game. I have already purchased another copy for my guest account so I can let my friends try it out and play with me.

Great little game. Extremely short. Steam workshop would be nice.
