Early Access Review
Okay, so it was really hard to make the decision to put a negative review on this game. Alot of other reviews have already stated the desire for multiplayer while the developer says they have no plans for making it multiplayer. I still got it on sale after watching it on The Outer Middle Show, Fooster, and GameEdged. So the core of the game is fun. There are some annoying aspects like having to use different workbenches to make different things instead of say the regular Workbench allowing you to make everything you can on the Personal Crafting Table (the pink slate stone) and then the Advanced Workbench allowing you can to make everything you can on the regular Workbench AND your lesser Personal Crafting Table. However, after wanting some multiplayer and getting another established crafting game (the Forest), DigX has that game beat IMO on everything but ability to have multiplayer. Seriously after playing this game the Forest is a headache.

So... basically it's a GOOD single player EXPERIENCE, not good single player game. Unless you just want to build forever in god mode and spend hours and hours alone or play with stagnant Vambies (the enemies), it just... it gets old. There is lore on the website, but not in-game, no difference in enemies beside one walks and one crawls, no ending. I built everything from scratch, got all the blueprints, have everything to survive with almost no chance of dying... for... forever. What do I do now? Yea, it's in Early Access and I admit I was waiting for over a year for the full release due to being burned on Early Access before, but after this version 12.0 released and had a good sale, I caved. So I've got over 63 hours in it and don't plan to continue unless some really groundbreaking update or multiplayer is released. It has SO much potential and people are all saying "Multiplayer!" "Multiplayer!" "Multiplayer!" and I agree, BUT have to admit, the developer said from the start that their intention was "single player only". I enjoyed it for the most part but kept thinking of my friends I'd love to share it with, and during the sale would've bought probably 4 to 6 copies if that was the case. Maybe future updates will change things, or not, or the developer may abandon like other Early Access titles. Only time will tell.

TLDR: Here's the shorthand: If you want a game with some interesting mechanics like season changes, and building things from scratch, but not wanting to vomit and grind like in Green Hell but beats The Forest, check it out for some decent hours of fun, but if you wanna share with friends, get mad with some crafting quirks, or want to complete a "campaign" (get an ending), then pass on it.

Do NOT waste your time on this game. It is virtually unbalanced and each army is basically a reskinning of the other, with only a small difference in spells that are mostly weak af. I played oldschool RTS since the 90s through now. I usually beat myself up playing on hardest difficulty and win, but for Fs sake this is awful. I read the other reviews of the computer "cheating" and watched a youtube reviewer say it's not that bad. That man lied through his teeth. There are five difficulties that go from Very Easy to Very Hard. If you play on Very Easy... basically just do whatever and win (boooring), you goto Normal and up, and the computer literally spews non-stop enemies at you, sometimes from multiple bases. Haven't played on easy that might be the magic balance but too late to care. There are defensive towers and my last and FINAL game on normal I couldn't destroy a single tower with a maxed out and fully upgraded army. I beat one campaign (which was a HEADACHE and FRUSTRATING) and got a 3rd through another and had to look at my completionist self and say "You have limited time to play games... why are you playing this while NOT having fun?" So I just uninstalled it. Got it on sale for 4.99 but still not worth a buy imo. got and RTS itch, scratch it with something else. This game looks good but plays like a turd. Either mind numbingly easy or unbeatable. No skill involved.

Don't waste your money or time. I played another game by this developer called "Deadly Escape" which takes place in the same universe as this game... kind of a prequel. I'd give Deadly Escape a 7/10 and this turd a 2/10. The potential for fun and gameplay is totally there, but too many frustrating components. To name a few, you have no direct control over your zombies. You can make a huge horde to push into areas but they may walk into a laser barrier or flame turret aimlessly and you just went from 68 Zeds to 23. Also the character faces to the right instead of the last direction you went to. Say your trying to kill a reinforcement guard and he's head to you (cuz you're out of Zeds) and the entrance requires you to face the left. you have to time moving to the left and attack at the same time, which if there are anymore guards following that one put you in the line of fire. If it's an entrance where you face the right, no problem. Also sometimes game make level breaking glitches such as sub weapons getting blocked for no reason. The pacing is weird too. Starts off easy, then gets difficult for first 10-12 levels? The n you have two levels where you start maxed out power and blow through them followed by a final level where you revert back to exp level 1. And it is HARD. Incredibly frustrating. I think I spent as much time trying to beat the last level as I did on the other levels combined. Almost uninstalled before I beat it. No level select and when you be it, the menu screen reverts to asking "New Game" as only play option.Lastly, the game did feel repetitive very shortly. Level up from base level almost every mission felt cumbersome. So so much potential, but just NOT FUN. Not even on sale for $3. I'd pay 50 cents and maybe then feel like the only thing that I lost value on was my time. Only reason I beat it was to complete so I could review it 100%.

I have to say this game was fun and entertaining however it WILL make you rage if you play on the harder difficulty settings. If you do so and want a challenge the single player is fun (decent little story) however if you want to play after and skirmish and such, it becomes way too grindy and yes the computer with all it's mutations will test your patients and ultimately even when you when, you realize just how tired you are and that all the fun is gone.

In summation: worth a buy on sale and fun for a while. Afterwards becomes way too repetitive and feels like work instead of fun.

Played and beat in exactly 2 hrs just meeting the Steam return window and wasn't even trying. Most reviews are on par: "potentially" decent game. Really only play if A) You like everything reset (permadeath everytime) with only thing rolling over are unlockable meh to worse perks (only 1 active and 1 passive can be activated in a single game) and B) You really wanna play a game based 90% on pure luck. I'd give it a 4 outta 10. Good story and concept, lacking replayability after first completion.

This game could be so good but suffers from the "Luck" factor. It's understandable to have chance in a game but when you're striving your hardest to play intelligently and skillfully when the majority of what happens is blind luck. Sure you can play in a fashion that would give you the best survivability BUT it's just a roulete whether one survivor with a golf club may kill multiple zombies and come back without a scratch or whether a complete group of well armed and geared up survivors gets killed in one turn by a group of 10 or even 5 zombies!! Really? There are so many random happenings even when your fortify a shelter and gear up and the stats don't even seem to help much. There's more but not much that other reviewers haven't already said. Could be such a great (not good but great) but just falls flat on it's face with frustration.

Kinda starts off a little wonky and maybe even boring to the experienced gamer, only then to start really getting fun and crazy!
