About MΛKЯØП
Creative Geek, Oddball Outsider, Metalhead + Glutton 4 Games :qlexcellent:
Born 1985. Gamer since '89. Deathmatchin' since '98. Host of sleazy, ultra-violent LANs since '05.

Rated R for mature audiences. Open to chat with like- and open-minded adult degenerate gamers. Not much for multiplayer gaming, ironically.

The premier frontend emulation experience

RetroArch has been a project I've followed for many years, and it's safe to say it has matured into the most stunningly graceful user experience in retro game emulation I've encountered. Everything has been thought of, considered, and implemented with incredible detail, skill, and efficiency. The libretro community and collaboration behind this project is remarkable, and RetroArch is a testament to what dedicated enthusiasts can build to preserve and keep alive gaming's history.

For newcomers, with some investment upfront to learn what is going on here, you will be rewarded with the easiest and most seamless way to live or relive thousands of titles from the past without even leaving Steam. You have a huge selection of systems to choose from, with the cores being easily accessible as DLCs, and Retro Achievements to add that modern trophy-hunting interactivity many enjoy.

RetroArch's features are too many to list here. Most simply and notable though are the universal controls, save/load states, streaming, screen recording, netplay, on-screen overlays/bezels, shaders and much more. There are an eye-watering amount of options within RetroArch for all these features, allowing granular customization for each core/system to your heart's content.

For many, finding RetroArch on Steam will be like finding a vast solar system within the wider galaxy that is Steam. Games of the past 40-50 years now are more accessible than ever, and given this accessibility that RetroArch provides its users, I hope retro/classic games will compete with your current modern line up and backlog of titles simply by fact of how polished this experience has been designed to be.
