Rebeljam 2010. New venue, same old vibes.
Although the Rebeljam is not only about results, we'll give them to you anyway. It's not the usual one score for the overall impression, at the rebeljam finals each rider gets three scores; one for Hard Tricks, one for Style and one score for Creativity. That doesn't give you one winner at the event, but three. And then there's park and dirt so a lot of people went home happy. Now look at the picture on your right to see the winner of the Hard Tricks category in Park: Mickael Beran. The Style award went to Sergio Layos and Creative was for Bruno Hoffmann. In dirt we had Andre Lacondeguy in first place, the Spanish rider rocked the house in the Hard Tricks field. Markus Hampl was stoked to win the creative title in dirt and even more stoked was a young Daniel Juchatz who won the style award.
Now that we got that out of the way we can tell you that it was a good time in Portimao with insane riding from lots of awesome riders. Catfish kept the riders informed and entertained all weekend long.
SKYLER PINGREE EARNS FINAL BMX SLOT FOR GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR FINALS
In the final stop of the regular Gatorade Free Flow Tour season, Skyler Pingree took the BMX park win at first-time host Rosewood in Salt Lake City, Utah this past Sunday. With the win, he has earned the final slot on the roster for the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, where he will join 70 of the top amateurs from around the country looking for a spot in the Dew Tour Championships this October.
Nineteen-year-old Pingree from Heber, Utah staked his claim to the win after linking together a feeble up the handrail 360 out, tailwhip over the hip, flair, on to a downside whip transfer and a big 540 on the quarter.
“I’m really psyched Gatorade put on this contest and gave me the opportunity to go to the Finals,” Pingree said. “It’s going to be sweet to ride the course instead of just watching from the stands next weekend.”
With the win, Pingree earns an automatic bid into the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals that will take place later this week at the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September 16-19, 2010 at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City.
