A middling experience. Taken straight from the book of how not to do a Rogue-like.

Ok so they introduce a teleporting character and sigils to the game it breaks the game a fair bit but players adapt and hey that character is annoying but you can out play them from time to time. then they bring a blizzard sigil to the game, k now players have to change how they play again when its active but hey its not too bad, then they bring a character that is litterally immune to damage while using thier ability except if they are shot in the very top of thier head... in a game where the hitboxes are mediocre at the best of times... Honestly between the power creep of the characters, the bugs, the glitches, the overall unrefined feel, pay to win mechanics, and bad servers this game is impossible to recommend... DEVS stop making unbalanced characters to encourage people to buy your battle pass and instead refine the game to the point where it doesnt feel bad to play, then build a player base, perhaps offer different characters rather then relying on the power creep of the characters to sell the battle pass, if you dont have any players playing then those people who buy the battlepasses wont have anyone to play with and will eventually leave the game.

I liked the DLC before the update, they felt kind of weak but overall were fun to play, post update i think they are crazy strong in the early and late game while still being fun to play. out of the clans i have played, (yet to do Kraken, dragon, horse, or snake) this one is my favorite.

Arcade mode is good, but since i last played realistic a few years ago they widened the field of view and allow you to zoom out way to far completely ruining the game mode. The point of releastic was to force it to be line of sight engagements and force a risk cost to peeking, but now everyone just hides in a bush and uses third person to see everything around them with perfect awareness and uses third person to peek corners or hold corners with no risk. So realistic which wasnt all that realistic in the first place is now just arcade but less UI and more camper friendly mechanics.

Literally unplayable because of how bad EasyAnticheat is. It triggered the security installed on my router and got me blocked out of my own router until i direct connected and fixed it. Game seems like it could be fun but it looks like i will never know.

Older versions of the game looked fun and are why i purchased the game, the newer version is absolutely miserable.
They over complicated it for no reason and took away alot of the fun of the game. Resource refining used to be a simple display with pictures for each object and a quick display of the amount of each resource you have. Now its a messy spreadsheet that gives suprisingly little information.
Meeples like doctors and officers don't seem to do anything (before officers would take up official roles and grant buffs and doctors weren't a thing) so your wasting a Meeple by assigning a officer and doctors watch patients die rather then helping them.
They added a list of how much oxygen and stuff you have into the UI but failed to include total amount of storage and goods so you have to open the refinement menu to see the amount of storage which seems clunky since the UI display shows much more useless stuff like power that honestly should be at either max or burning more power then generated causing a problem so it would make more sense to add an event ping when power generation is not sufficient enough rather then having it take up a permanent UI space.
I feel i would have had more fun if they would have just expanded onto the older version of the game rather then trying to redo a large part of it, also who ever decided that microsoft spreadsheet was a good role model for displays and UI should seriously rethink their career in game development.
I rarely do game refunds on steam, but im refunding this abomination of bad game/interface design.

Early Access Review
I feel like this could be a good game but for every smart thing they did to the tug of war basic formulae they also did something stupid to it.
Progression in a game of this style is smart adding skins and unlockables that dont directly effect gameplay can be fun and gives people something to grind for. Having the progression being runes that permanently increase units stats is stupid theres a reason league of legends dropped that system. A mirror match up where people literally buy the same thing should be a close match not a complete shut out just because one person spent more time playing. Some of the runes literally make it so units can ignore 20% incoming damage (from a single rune). The runes are costly and require alot of grinding to earn.
Having the units upgrade into different styles of the same unit for players to unlock is rather smart. Having them just being statistically better then the regular versions is stupid. Again this favours those who put in enough time or money to unlock the extra versions of units. For instance the hailstorm is an upgraded version of an AA unit that acts as a long range artillery against ground units and has twin AA for air units literally countering both ground and air units from a distance where the units cant fight back. Then theres the shadow blade slave literally 'dark templar' from starcraft 2 but with equivelent cost of a zealot, seems fair and balanced right?

Really this game could have been a good tug of war but some idiot thought linear progression systems is the best way to approach it and it kind of ruins the game. Look at other games that do the competitive/semi competitive style, all options are availible to all players the only difference is skill. To compare them to this game Imagine if playing counter strike a lot gave your glock or USP +20 damage or if in starcraft you started with +3/+3 already researched because you played more then your enemy, it would ruin the game. So if it wouldn't work in those games why does the dev think it would work in this one?
