You divide the 333 coins into three piles of 111 coins.

1.)You then weigh two of them, if they match the other stack has the fake. If one is heavier that
stack is then that one has the fake

Divide the 111 coins into 3 stack of 37 coins.

2.)Weigh 2 of them like in the manner of step 1.

Divide the stack of 37 into 3 stacks: 12, 12, 13.

3.)Weigh the two stacks of 12. The heavier will have the coin, if they are equal the stack of 13 has it.

Divide the remaining stack into 4, 4, 5 or 4, 4, 4 depending on if it was 13 or 12.

4.)Weigh two stacks of 4, do the same as step 3 in terms of isolating the stack.

Divide the stack of 5 or 4 into stacks : 2, 2 or 2, 2, 1

5.)Weigh two stacks of 2 on the scale.

You will have 1 stack of two or a stack of three and a single coin.

6.)Weigh the 1 coin against the other. If you had 2 coins left, the heavier is the right one.
If you had 3 coins and they are equal the one left out is the fake.
