you need arma and arma 2:anchorage head to play it. there are plenty of online tutorials on how to load the mod. Took me about half an hour of messing around to get it running. It is still in alpha, but the online reviews do not lie. buying the arma package is worth it just to play this mod.
Full PVP from the start, best bet, put the water at your back and run west as far as you can as quick as you can.
Do not scavenge in towns without a group, as a solo player there are plenty of barns and sheds out alone, fewer zombies to worry about.
Always assume someone is preparing to snipe you for your gear
the interface is awfull for the first couple of days, I'm finally getting used to it after about 6 hours of game play.
