If you're into history and prepared to sink hours into learning a complicated and rewarding game, this game is a masterpiece. The kind of game you'll remember playing when you look back in 30 years time.

It's...... good. Not much of a step-up from Democracy 3 in my personal opinion but it's still good.

It's not particularly realistic though and this can be frustrating. It's actually relatively easy to improve education, reduce the deficit, reduce crime, improve education, improve the environment and reduce poverty...... and then still inexplicably lose the next election. That just makes no sense.

If you have Democracy 3 then I'm not sure I'd say it was enough of a step up to justify buying the same game again but I can still see me sinking a lot of hours into this.

Looked forward to this game for ages but I found it boring and frustrating.

I'm a fan of 'Walking Sims' and horror games in general, and I also find the Dyatlov Pass incident interesting so I figured this would be fun despite some of the negative reviews.

The first minute of the game is the best. A beautiful setting with beautiful sound and effects. I was expecting to get some background as to why I was there and what I was doing. What I got was a pointless march into the mountains following magical footprints, which for some unknown reason don't seem to surprise nor scare the main protagonist. About two minutes in, you end up walking through a ridiculously creepy tunnel of trees and eventually actually under the root system itself.

Why am I here? Why am I walking in this direction? Why isn't this freaking me out? Is it really likely that this exists just 100 yards from the village and nobody knows about it? Eventually I fall down a hole (I think) and end up crawling to a tent, for some reason. Who's tent? Why? Who am I? What am I doing?

There then follows some kind of supernatural event which again makes no sense nor does it seem to provoke any kind of emotion from the character. I then ended up marching aimlessly into the mountains towards a huge red symbol and got trapped in between some rocks. Had to restart and ended up back at the tent with about 15 mins progress lost.

I wanted to love this game but it's clearly not the game I was after.

Nice short game with a focus on history rather than story. Not much goes on in the story but the setting and the explanation of the events captured me. I'd only recommend it to someone with an interest in the history of the event.

Bland, pointless and repetitive. It felt like being at work.

Excellent fun. Addictive and simple to get grasp.

I don't see much longevity in it but what's there works well.

Huge fan of the Civilization series. Probably no game has swallowed up my time more than it.

However, I'm disappointed by this game. I was never really a huge fan of Alpha Centauri either if I'm totally honest. But I never found it anywhere near as frustrating as this game.

Tackling aliens, even at the easiest of levels, is a bore. It is often difficult attacking their nest without having your unit nestled in miasma (a toxic green mist) which bascially harms your unit on every turn. This means that attacking the nest is often not possible and leaves your initial city open to constant attack. I've played a few times now and not been able to deal with this.

An utter pain in the backside.

Early Access Review
Very impressive EA game. Looks gorgeous and plays smoothly on my system.

Looking forward to seeing where this will go.

I should say that I don't think I'm a fan of the genre in general but the feel and atmosphere of this one caught my attention.
