Integral Form
Suppose f(x) is a function continuous in the closed interval a≤x≤b, and suppose F(x) is a primitive of f(x). Then
∫a^b {f(x)dx = F(b) - F(a)}
Differential Form
Suppose f(x) is a function continuous in the closed interval a≤x≤b. Then the definite integral
∫ a^x {f(t) dt}, regarded as a function of its upper bound x, is a primitive of f(x):
d/dx ∫a^x {f(t)dt=F(x)} for a<x<b
