Empire: Total War
Empire: Total War is an upcoming 2009 real-time tactics and turn-based strategy computer game. Developed by the Creative Assembly and published by Sega, the game is scheduled for release in North America on 3 March 2009 and in Europe on 4 March. Announced in August 2007, Empire: Total War is the fifth installment in the Total War series, and focuses on the modern era period of the 1700s and 1800s. The game follows a similar style of play as earlier Total War titles: players choose a contemporary faction and set out to ensure their faction's domination over the known world through military force, politics, diplomacy, espionage and economics. Although the campaign element of the game is turn-based, players can direct battles in real-time. Empire: Total War is the first game in the series to allow naval battles to be conducted in real-time.
Napoleon: Total War
Napoleon: Total War is an upcoming turn-based strategy and real-time tactics video game developed by The Creative Assembly and published by Sega. It is the next installment in the Total War series. It is scheduled to be released on February 23rd, 2010 with several editions; Standard Edition, Imperial Edition, and Emperor's Edition (available in Australia). As well as the hard copy versions, both products are available for digital download on the Steam content delivery system, with pre-orders to include a special in-game unit: The Royal Scots Greys. The French actor Stephane Cornicard is to interpret Napoleon Bonaparte in the original English version, as well as the German, French, and Spanish versions.
There are 2 campaigns. Both campaigns Focus on Napoleons early campaigns. The first will follow Napoleon through his Italian Campaign in 1796 and the second is the Egyptian Campaign in 1798. These campaigns are scripted to allow players to relive important parts of Napoleons career, cinematic sequences have returned from prevous games, to help tell the story of Napoleon in a narrative fashion. They will also feature smaller, optional missions to help push the story forward.The third, "The Mastery of Europe" campaign, which is a non-scripted campaign, allows players to again play as France. Due to the non-scripted nature of this campaign, players will be able to completely re-write history. For example, if players choose to invest in a bigger, more powerful French navy, it may be possible to defeat the Mighty Royal Navy and go on to conquer Great Britian
