Addictive puzzle shooter, like Bust a Move with timing and power-ups, or like Peggle without the luck/absurd physics predicting. Graphics and music are fitting and decent, but the gameplay is super-solid. If your playing is off, you will know in seconds as balls stack close to your pyramid. Conversely, getting combo after combo is delicious in sight, sound, and feel. With experience, missing a single shot is a let-down since you don't get the *SHING* Accuracy bonus. Also, the game saves even if it crashes after the credits! Overall, it's a solid game you can play for just 2 minutes or for hours and it's never not fun.

Note: Right-click to switch colors. This is very useful.

Advice: When you start out, you'll probably get annoyed when you have a long queue about to breach your pyramid. Sometimes you won't be given the color you need and have to waste it, or more likely, your 1 or 2 shots will be push it all the way in. Shit sucks, I know, but it's to show you to always pay attention and to make sure you don't let the lines stack up. Alternatively, if you haven't missed a shot, you'll typically get a lifesaver power-up that will save your ass just in time. POINT BEING: DON'T RUSH and MISS SHOTS, and when you're more experienced, DESTROY LINES as EARLY as possible.

100% Advice: To unlock every power-up, you MUST BEAT ELITE WITHOUT a SINGLE GAME OVER. I recommend stopping after every boss so you don't get cocky/lose your starter's edge. You cannot be distracted, or worrying about something, or sleepy, or anything but in the game to do this. If you're actually going to do this, you should know by now the game is fair and this is possible, although it seems crazy at first. It's awesome practice just to try, and the game will be much easier/even funner when you do it right. Good shooting.

100% Advice: Ice Trick was pesky for me. You can [basically] ONLY do it on Normal Bonus 4 and not Hard or Elite (forgot where on Easy). The easiest time is on the last line which loops itself. Freeze both sides but make sure BOTH FROZEN SETS DON'T TOUCH and that both sets are lined up. You don't actually need to freeze 2 separate lines.

Platforming made fresh again. Consistently fun due to solid gameplay and interesting level design, combined with great music that matches the gameplay in an almost rhythm game type of way and a strong cartoony art direction that's legitimately funny at points. The difficulty curve is caressingly gentle up until you start playing the chase and final levels which can be pretty challenging. It also has 2 player co-op but it's not online for PC for some bad reason. Anyway, this game's great for any platformer fans, casual or hardcore.

100% Note: I recommend getting all of the Lum Medals on your first playthrough. That makes you fully explore each level which will help a lot when you go back to get the time trial Electoon and Trophy.

Trick #1: Most of the game can be beaten by just holding run while pressing jump or attack to the flowing rhythm of obstacles in the level. You'll feel it when you try getting a trophy.

Trick #2: While running, attack and jump for extra speed/distance.

THE SONIC CYCLE IS BROKEN. Every level is an elaborate remix of the original level design, so basically that level in that game which you love are now made FUNNER AND COOLER. The style of each game/level is made vivid almost to the taste. It is dripping in Sonic juices. This is the greatest aspect of this game: it is legitimately a Sonic fan's Sonic game. If you are a Sonic fan, of ANY Sonic game, you will like/love this because it gives you what you want and MORE. If you hated any of the games ('06...) this game will make you think twice about it.

Other things:
Gameplay is solid. Classic gameplay is like classic games although a little revamped. Controls for Modern Sonic might get a little complex on the keyboard.

Level design is beautiful, decently challenging and memorable.

MUSIC IS FUCKING AWESOME, HOLY /SHIT/.

Plot/characters are paper-thin! My only complaint, although it fits the compilation style.
