A modern take on a genre you probably felt overplayed 15 years ago, Shatter is a refreshing and very modern take of a brick breaking game. The largest gameplay change, and really the defining game mechanic, is the ability to emit gravity changes that push or pull the ball(s) you've been bouncing at bricks. This ability gives you fine control over your methods of brick breaking, allowing you to curve the ball around obstacles, and even pull bricks into your ship for damage/points. Stylistically, the game looks as good as you'd want any brick breaking game to look, in that it looks nice and isn't too visually distracting to hamper the gameplay. The music is fast paced, which fits the gameplay. There's a campaign mode, with multiple worlds and bosses, as well as a pretty hectic endless mode. We've seen awesome modernizations of old school games like Geometry Wars, Pacman:CE, and Space Invaders: Infinity Gene the past few years, and Shatter for sure belongs amonst those games.
