Each successive Civ game seems to want to make gameplay less about combat (which is what I enjoyed about the games) and more about diplomacy to become more of a simulation of reality. Yet, in Civ 6, we have cartoon leaders. All the Civ 6 DLC feel like a blatant money grab. I'll stick with Civ 4 or Civ 2 in a Windows XP virtual machine.

Fun with friends, especially in some of the modder universes.

Buy SOTS 1 instead of SOTS 2. SOTS 2 added more customization but the customizations add little to gameplay. The game doesn't feel complete. For example, the Gardner dreadnaught seems like it should have something to do with terraforming planets. If you build a station on it and move it to a planet, that planet will be attacked by Protean Pods. The Gardner has no abilities other than movement and the Protean Pods seem to do nothing. It feels like the devs left a lot of unfinished concepts in the game. Games seem to take a lot longer than SOTS 1 as well.
