Hell, it's about time. Life is worth living because of The Beatles, Citizen Kane, sex, Mathematics and Starcraft. What I'm trying to say is that life is about doing whatever the hell you choose. The film 'Little Miss Sunshine' says 'do what you love and fuck the rest'. It's a good point. At the end of the day, it's not about who has the most money, power, or wives (unless that's your thing), it's about who did whatever the fuck they wanted to do.
More than that though, it's about finding your own place in the world. We're all induviduals, so act like one. Jim Morrison was legend; sleeping with all the contemporary female rockstars, eating LSD like M&Ms, getting done for public nudity at a gig in Miami. If any of that shows anything though, it's that he did whatever the fuck he wanted to do. And while Jim Morrison is ridiculously cool, me trying to be like him would defeat the point. The more I try to be like Jim Morrison, the less of a Jim Morrison I become. That's because his entire life was about finding his own place in the world, and if you've copied him you don't have your own personal space.
So hell, I'll do what I love, and I'll fuck the rest. The good people, the ones that succeed, conform to society and the way it runs. That's fine for them, but the *great* ones, the very best, do it differently. They don't have to conform to get by, they can transcend it all and make people follow them. They don't have to conform to society. Because society conforms to them.
And hell, I'm a great person.
