This is the Steam group for the diablo 2 server at whatthebert.com. We mainly play hardcore, but softcore and new players are always welcome! If you need to reach the admins, you can get us at whatthebert@gmail.com.


HOW TO PLAY D2 WITH THE GROUP:

Quick and Dirty: Set your gateway to bnet.whatthebert.com

Detailed:

What you need:

1) Diablo 2 version 1.11b LOD or version 1.12 LOD.
2) Battlenet Gateway Editor



You can get the gateway editor and the 1.11b patch along with a no CD crack if you need it on google. just search for 'd2loader' and the no CD will be one of the first 2 or 3 results. For the editor, just search 'bnet gateway editor' and it will come right up.

Use the gateway editor to add a new gateway, make it:

bnet.whatthebert.com

Put in 8 for zone, and give it any name you want


Then, fire up Diablo 2. Click on "choose gateway" underneath Battle.net, then choose whatthebert.com or whatever name you gave it. You'll then be able to connect. You will need to make a new account.

It should pop you into a default channel. Feel free to do whatever.





Rules:

-Don't be a faggot. This includes, but is not limited to, taking tons of class loot that you can't use, running off with items that dropped from your dead hardcore buddies, etc etc.

-Don't cheat/dupe items. Maphack is the one and only exception to this rule. Nobody cares if you use maphack.

-Don't PK hardcore characters. If you want to pvp, make softies so nobody gets butthurt over losing a high level char.

Breaking any of the above is a great way to get banned.

This doesn't work with D2loader, as it is run to start the game. Simply extract the .dll/.mpq/.exe to your Diablo II folder and run the highres .exe. This will only work correctly for windowed mode or DirectDraw.
After joining a game, change resolutions and you will be given a list of all resolutions your monitor can support to choose from.
