Michael Lee Johannsen 1958 ~ 2009 Our loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend- Michael Johannsen passed on to the next life, Tuesday morning, September 29, 2009, of heart failure.Mike was born March 3, 1958 to Duane and Beverly Johannsen in Hawarden, Iowa. Married E. Hope Nelson, May, 1993, they had one son, Thomas R.B., later divorced. Married Cynthia Camille Ulibarri, October 13, 1995, they had one son, Jeremiah (JJ). Mike gained a step-daughter, Haley Brooke, through marriage to Cynthia. Mike is survived by his wife, children, mother, father, as well as brothers Steve (Joan) of Oregon, and Danny (Jackie) of New Hampshire. Mike was a very loving and caring person. Mike saw the beauty in everything which shone through in his wonderful photography. His heart was the size of the sun. With his wife at his side he enjoyed taking long motorcycle rides to scenic views where he would take stunning pictures. Michael played the guitar with great accuracy and knew every Pink Floyd song by memory. He was also a skilled woodcrafter. He created beautiful jewelry boxes, cradles, hope chests, toy boxes, knives, etc. Mike was nicknamed Dr. Doolittle due to his instant bonding and fondness of all animals he encountered, especially his pet rats. We are blessed to have had Michael in our lives and he will forever be in our hearts. "Shine on you crazy diamond."
