Early Access Review
Good adaptation, now that they ironed out the bugs.
They still should release the expansions, with them the game would be much better.

4 out of 6 stars ★★★★☆☆

The pros:
- The visuals, the model and the textures are very nice. Driving feels fine. Keep in mind taht I never drove any of these in real life, but I have not observed any vividly unrealistic behavior,

The cons:
- The sounds are not great and the sound does not become louder if you open the window.
- Just 3 scenarios included.
- Only 2 livery options (although I can understand that's probably because of licensing issues).
- No variants with more modern doors.

So that's it - there's nothing relaly wrong with the dlc and I'm hapy after getting it during a discount sale. However for the full price it would feel somewhat limited given no variants and just 3 scenarios.

2 out of 6 stars ★★☆☆☆☆

The person responsible for the game's graphics did a really good job. But that is the only positive thing I can say about this game.

As a dungeon crawler it is incredibly repetitive with the same 5 types of enemies popping up all over again. There is verly little strategy involved and the RPG elements are mediocre to say the least.

2 out of 6 stars ★★☆☆☆☆

On the plus side:
- The game has some quite pretty graphics made in a consistent, interesting storybook-style.
- Some of the nature audio is good quality

On the negative side of things:
- There is hardly any gameplay. The wombat moves to the spot you click on, eats the shurbs you click on and that is pretty much the extent of interaction. While this might have provided for a relaxing, lazy nature-focused gameplay, it is exacerbated by the other problems.
- The whole game is very short, I completed it easily under 2 hours without trying to rush it.
- For a game so focused on the Australian outback, there are not many other animals to see and interact with. A few birds and a lizard that will run away once you approach them. Plus afew insects here and there. That is pretty much it.
- The "gameplay" really felt like an unnecessary element slapped on to a visual novel experience.

Summary:
It seems like the developpers have chosen the wrong medium. Instead of trying to shoehorn it into a game format, perhaps they should have made this into a visual novel or a short animated film. But as a game, I cannot recommend it. There is just not enough substance and not enough interactivity involved. Because of the brevity and lack of content, I had sadly decided to get a refund.

Which is sad, because the Australian Outback is a fascinating ecosystem and the wombat is rarely featured in the media. I really wish I could give this a better rating.

Decent, well priced, quality no-nonsense content. No fluff, just extra terrain. Buy it.

The game fails to scale the screen resolution properly, regardless if it is ran fullscreen or windowed, a large part of the top bar ends up offscreen, preventing me from playing. I've tried changing the ingame resolution, as well as launching the game with steam launch settings set to my native resolution. I also tried adjusting the UI scaling.

NOTE:The option "Ignore System UI Scaling" did not prevent parts of the top bar being off the right end of the screen. I tried that and I also tried adjusting the scaling.

Nothing worked. I applied for a steam refund.

Overall, all works fine. Reading some of the first 7 reviews on steam, I was expecting a lot of bugs. This is not the case so far.

- Rollbands work perfectly ok.
- Wheels and interior shows up perfectly fine for me.
- Handling was entirely fine.
- Sounds are the same level of quality as with the Ikarus 280 DLC. They are OK, but I wish they would record higher quality engine sounds of a real life 260. That's my biggest gripe/suggestion so far.
- The manual should be in your "OMSI 2/Addons" folder. It is there for me.

Other than the sounds, its a great DLC. At this point in time, clearly a thumbs up from me.

I'll come back to this review to expand it after some more playtime. This model is an absolute classic, glad it got the "deluxe treatement" from Bustrainz.
