TEAM XLR8 (Pronounced Accelerate) is a casual competitive community for games including (but not limited to) Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike: Source, and Day of Defeat: Source. Beginning in late 2007 with the beta release of Team Fortress 2, it has accumulated a small list of dedicated and highly skilled players, gaining a notable amount of recognition from OMFGNinja’s spy videos, featured on ubercharged.net and kotaku.com. In August of 2008, TEAM XLR8 halted operations and its members went their separate ways—that is, until late February of 2009 when a handful of the original XLR8 members elected to start a Day of Defeat: Source team under the same name. With that idea came the decision to restart operations in Team Fortress 2 as well. Though it’s ideals lie mainly on enjoying the fun of the game, TEAM XLR8’s highly competitive nature lends itself to the competitive scene and the success that comes with it. Recruits are currently being accepted on a highly selective basis and anyone interested must first contact iamЯoot for an interview.
