Sweat seeps through his eyebrows and smudges his vision. Humidity tunnels inside his veins. Jungle tears at his clothes and skin. Scorching sun pierces the rustling roof. But the beat of his heart bangs in his ears. He feels the crunch underneath his feet, and the pain. He is still alive and he is very much aware of this convenient fact.
