In topic What Do You Dislike About This Game?
Whats annoying me is i was expecting to be in a wasteland alone depending on myself and survivning. but right from the get go, everyone is like, "lets commune!" "lets build" "lets babysit settlers" lets commune!". and im like damn man, this crap should have been introduced later on. like at the end. its really ruining the feel of the game for me. I DONT WANT TO COMMUNE ATM! its forcing busy work of toiling thru inventory. very tedius. i think im going to kill them all off.

In topic Why can't i see any servers?

Due to the age of this game, the original devs no longer existing, and the current owners of The Ship not being able to modify the game's code, the matchmaking server is permanently offline. Instead, you should use the Steam client's server browser to find and connect to servers. Click View in the top-left corner of the Steam client, then select Servers to open the server browser. Click the INTERNET tab at the top-left of the window, click CHANGE FILTERS, then click the drop-down menu that's next to Game. Scroll down until you see The Ship, then select it. This will filter out all the servers apart from those running The Ship, which you can then add to your favorites.

This guide has some pictures of how to perform these steps:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=261345188

You can also add servers to your favourites directly by going to these two websites and copying the IP addresses:
http://www.gameserverdirectory.com/search.php?q=&game=the-ship&country=
http://www.game-monitor.com/GameSearch/ship2/The_Ship_v52.html
Then open up the server browser, click the FAVORITES tab, click ADD A SERVER, paste the IP address and click FIND GAMES AT THIS ADDRESS.

that at the bottom should be pinned srsly. cuz steam is not showing up any servers but that site does.

In topic FPS drop after zoning
I know this is an old thread, but it comes up on the first page of google when searching. I have had this same problem since skyrim first came out, unmodded, with default settings, and with 2 different video cards. The closest thing ive seen that even slightly helps, aside from turning your settings way down way below what they should be, is ewi65's ini files that can be found on the realvision page at nexus.

Before switching to these, fps would drop after zoning into interiors almost 100% of the time and i would have to alt+tab. After i switched to these, it never happens in interiors but now happens when zoning to exteriors, but it happens less than 50% of the time. Ive not been able to figure out what exactly is the difference that is changing this. Maybe someone more experienced with ini configs would be able to. I sure hope so because this is still driving me crazy.

That answer is not precise enough to be called truth. In the game or in real life.

In topic Housing Discounts bug?
In two seperate games ive tried to get housing building discounts. these are the only times ive tried to use them. one by using ussr defelopement edict, and the other just appears from the timeline in modern times(economic assistance). neither of them actually give me any discount on buiding housing buildings. What is the problem here? Anyone else have this? Does printing money edict break this? because i think i used it both times. Or does this only effect the cost to maintain them?

Pah. Is it worth continuing this thread? Last time he got called out with this nonsense he deleted the thread. I recall he had over 90 hours and hadn't reached 300 when he was screaming bugs.

In that rant thread he claimed he couldn't get to 300+ because the game was broken. He was told why, he argued it was not his fault and then deleted the thread. Some other tosser got involved, told him what he wanted to hear and he fell for it.

Now - at 1000+, as he claims, means he L2P better than he was and yet still claims bugs as he frog marches his citizens to oblivion.

He was wrong then. He's wrong now. It's bad advice, gives false hope to people struggling and he should be ashamed.

Above all, now he's convinced he's a "master player", the least he could do, to all the "♥♥♥♥wits" that helped him out before - is offer a freakin' apology.

you must be thinking of someone else. Understandable tho, you troll so many people it would be hard to remember them all.

My thread was about the bean farmer that stopped harvesting beans to walk across the large map to get beans. its the same event that i expressed in this thread. I deleted it because i realized the only people the responed to threads here are trolling idiots. I made this one because its actually useful to people that encounter this problem. As far as useful information goes, me 1, u trolls 0. And thats shameful because u guys live here.

Far to much blackies and woodcutters. Storage barns !!

lol why do i think i have this many? i kept building more to keep up not realizing the AI was wack. now i have plenty to trade since i straightened things out :D

130 years for 1K pop is why Maverick dosn't have the same *bugs* the whiners have. It's called sustainable growth and the AI deals with sustainable growth just fine.

L2P and stop trolling the forums with your incompetence. =P

lol are u saying im so good at the game i broke it? actually what i think happened is whatever code that toggles farmers to laborers in the winter screwed up. and all my farmers had no other jobs for over 10-30 years, making better chance for the bug to happen to them. as for blacksmiths and woodcutters, im not sure.

Once again, as before, you're playing Russian Roulette with a semi-auto, a full magazine and blaming the bloke who makes marshmellows.

Tosser.

Im at 1037, i started a hard mountains harsh small map tho and been playing it. Thats my play style i guess. Im not here to sit and look at the game, i want to play it. I build as fast as i get the resourses. as long as you make the right jobs it maintains a balance of no more or no less than you need.

tldr: Shuffle everyones jobs.

I was on year 40 with about 750 citizens and everything had been going smooth, until gradually the farmers started falling behind. They were unable to get crops harvested despite me starting harvest in late summer. They all were living right next to their work location and had everything they needed for their houses. I even had one winter where there was no frost and by early spring some farms still had less than 50% harvested.

Baffled as to why they couldnt do their job, i started following them to see what they were doing. They were all traveling to random locations of the large map to pick up random items they didnt need. When they would work, they would only chop one peice of bush down then it was off to idle or travel to another random location on the other side of the map for unneeded resources.

Not only were farmers doing this but blacksmiths and woodcutters as well. Again, they were all living right next to their work and had all the resources they needed. Its like everyone was confused wether or not they are laborers. They wouldnt clear trees, rock, or iron, but they would run around picking up things like laborers do when they have no immediate tasks.

Eventually the population dropped down by about 100 or so, not because of lack of food in their houses but because of starving from wandering the giant map.

It was not until i ran out of laborers and had to assign miners and stonecutters to other jobs, that i did something i hadnt done in over ten years. I switched the 150 farmers or so off farming in the winter time to compinsate the lack of miners and stonecutters the starvation had caused.

Spring was rolling around and i figured i was in for another season of hell dealing with these slackers. But everything had turned around, i told them to harvest in late summer as i normally do and by late autumn every crop had been harvested!

Realizing this somehow reset their AI, i did this to the 17 blacksmiths and 31 woodcutters that wouldnt produce. Hell, 3 or 4 blacksmiths had been working ten years and not made a single tool. In just a short amount of time the steal tools shot up to 600 and the woodcutters were now able to keep up with the houses.

Im not sure how this method would work when you have plenty of people and most jobs filled and no different job to switch them to. When i had plenty of people and all jobs filled is when this bug occured, and I ended up losing enough people to have alot of empty jobs before i did this so I dont know if just switching them to laborers is enough.

Anyways Good Luck! And good luck dealing with ♥♥♥♥wits on this forum that compete with each other to see how deep they can chug Lukes ♥♥♥♥ and insist the game is perfect and problem is youre a bad player while only giving advice that is obvious to any idiot that plays the game for over 30 minutes.
