All Your Base Online

All Your Base was originally All Your Base Cafe a cybercafé located in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Opened in 2001 by Aaron K, it enjoyed one full year of business before having to close due to the selling of the building. After opening www.allyourbasecafe.com as a forum primarily to keep people updated to the reopening of the new café, a computer hardware store was added. Renamed All Your Base Online, the store did extremely well in the Winnipeg hardware community and continues to have excellent sales. AYB is currently the largest gaming organization in Canada, and boasts a mailing list of roughly 4000 people.

Baselan came into existence in August 2003; the first event was called Baselan 4 as the first three were held at the original café. The first event drew 34 gamers and blew many breakers at Canadinn’s Fort Garry. Origionally there were 4 events per year, this was brought down to 3, and now sits at 2 as the sheer size of these events requires at least six months of planning. Baselan has even hosted a CPL qualifying event in which two teams were sent to Toronto to compete in the national finals for Counterstrike. More qualifiers are in the works.

Now in its 5th year and 14th event, Baselan is drawing 300+ gamers from across Canada, the United States, and Internationally. It continues to grow and will continue to increase its attendance rate until it becomes the largest LAN in Canada. It is currently ranked the second largest bi-annual event according to NVIDIA.

Baselan has provided advertising and sponsorship opportunities to companies such as Corsair, Microsoft (Xbox), Sony (PS2), Crucial, Viewsonic, Maxtor, Geil, Spire Cooling, DangerDen, Koolance, LG Electronics, Diamond Dog Music, DKT, Func, Everglide, Futureshop, Compucenter, Biostar, DFI, Nvidia, ATI, Bawls, and many more. Almost 100% of these companies return every 6 months to sponsor the event again.

AYB not only hosts their own events, but also sponsors other events when asked. AYB has co-hosted multiple lans and routinely donates prizes from the online store to other events. We have travelled with servers and networking to other cities (Free of Charge) to assist in the running of tournaments and networks. AYB is also known to sponsor wedding and fundraising socials with prizes and/or gift certificates for its products and services.
