I tried out survival type games and was never fond of them.

The only survival game to "move" me was this one. Even as a single player PVE experience this game goes so hard. I can't speak for PvP as I did not try it. Even if you hate survival games, give ARK a shot. It may surprise you.

I enjoyed the original Turok game so I decided to try out Turok2.

Turok 2 has massive maze like levels which can be a real pain to navigate without a guide or walk through. The original Turok did not have this problem. The game also wants you to backtrack to previous stages with newly acquired powers in order to progress. I eventually gave up. It's not a bad game but it is very confusing to progress and apparently this version is the least confusing.

I would recommend checking it out only you liked the first game but be warned.

Rage is a good game. A 7.5/10 kind of game.

While playing through RAGE I garnered a list of the things I liked and things I did not.

[[[[[Things I liked]]]]]]
- Feels like a mix of doom and borderlands with a hint of fallout3, which are all titles I like.
- Great looking graphics for a dated game, holds up well in 2024.
- Gunplay; guns look and feel satisfying to shoot and kill stuff with. Lots of feedback from blasting
enemies with good ragdoll physics making for some interesting deaths.
- Convincing level design, has great looking post apocalyptic lands and barren landscapes. There is an
"open world", although the open world is fairly linear.
- Driving sections are short and sweet, seems like they did not want to pad out gameplay with long driving
sections and I can respect that. We don't want another FarCry 2 over here.
- Atmosphere is spot on, allowing easy immersion.
- Has racing sections in the campaign.
- Feels like a Mad max video game.
- Car combat is part of the game and is used to mixup gameplay. Although it's kind of lackluster.
- Tight linear fine tuned gameplay instead of doing openworld task lists.
- Easy story to follow. You are a random dude who was saved from death by some other random dude. You start
doing jobs for said someone. They get you to help clean up the wasteland and its bandit problem.
- Fun, meaningful missions with good incentives. Sure they all amount to go here and kill everyone and find the
thing to interact with but the missions actually make sense and flow well with the gameworld. Even side
missions have a lot of love put into them making them feel like main missions.
- Doesn't take itself too seriously, keeps fun as the driving factor at all times.
- Playful and intriguing characters are in the gameworld to interact with. Reminded me of borderlands
almost when I was interacting with people in town.

[[[[[Things I dislike:]]]]]
- Few enemy types. Mainly just one type of enemy shows up frequently.
- Audio bugs were common with my steam version. When firing the guns on your vehicle, no sound
plays for the first few seconds. Also the engine would be muted at times when driving.
- The open world is not really open. It's still very linear with only about 1 path to take.
- No physics with any objects in the gameworld. Everything is static and immovable. Can't shoot out
glass, break stuff etc.
- It's a short game for such a genre. Even when coupled with the DLC you are looking at around 10-15
hours.
- Gameplay loop can get pretty predictable and stale within first few hours.
- Driving is not that satisfying, as there is only about 1 or 2 pathways to drive on in the open world and the
racing is underwhelming.
- Story fails to be memorable enough. Even with cool memorable characters.
- Online co-op play is a seperate game from the campaign. Would of been nice to do a run of the campaign with
a buddy.

It's a very solid game that's fun to play. Does nothing exceptionally well but also does nothing bad either. Has easy drop in and out game play. There's split screen(shared screen) coop up to 4 players on 1 pc. Some of the quality of life features are on point but the graphical options leave a lot to be desired. All and all a great romp to play solo or with friends.

I enjoyed Trine 5, although not as much as Trine 1, 2, and 3. My buddy and I have played since the first game and we really miss the flow of the first two games, as well as the underwater levels. There has not been a single underwater stage since Trine 3 and we miss it. The new direction of Trine seems to be more puzzle focused than action, while the older games had a good balance of the two and even combining the two elements.

I would give Trine 5 a 6.5 / 10 as it's not really my cup of tea but still a good game.

The graphics look good (even today), the sound is good, the characters and story are good. Everything is good except for the combat. The combat mechanics seem archaic for a game that came out in 2012. It's very reminiscent of the original Witcher game. It's not a bad game per se, it could be some peoples cup of tea. I enjoyed it for a little bit but then couldn't be bothered. Maybe I'll give it another spin someday.

It runs terribly, lots of slowdowns even on single player. It technically works, however it's only playable to a degree.

The game is rock solid, like a 7 / 10 kind of title. It's also an absolute blast to play with homies.

Nothing special but a decent arpg that's good enough to scratch the itch.
