Anarchy = chaos?

There is a huge difference between the two words. Most people think that an anarchist is a bomb-throwing punk without respect, values or intelligence.

Yes, there are rules in anarchy. You can't do what you want, when you want, because this is called chaos.

Anarchy means no government, no social classes, not free-for-all. I know, it couldn't work in our present society, because there are too many different types of people. To live in real anarchy, you need cooperation, that means people need to trust each other. A society with no police and no laws is only a mindless chaos.

No government doesn't mean no organization. In an anarchist society, you would have industries controlled by the workers, and all the citizens would participate in the society. In my opinion, that's why anarchy can't be in a huge city or country, because we would fall in dumb bureaucracy (see Franz Kafka).

Chaos is very different. In fact, chaos is much more near capitalism than anarchy, because it promotes individualization and orthodox darwinism. Anarchy is based on cooperation and mutual help, chaos is based on selfishness.

when I read something in newspapers about a riot or stuff like that, they always talk about anarchy. In these cases, I feel exactly like when I read about "hacking" when most of the time it should be "cracking".

As Proudhon said: Anarchy is Order - thus the 'A' in a big 'O'.
