One of the BEST action rpgs I have played. Bastion functions primarily as a top-down hack and slash, but the weapon selection and seemingly infiinite combinations of weapon loadouts and skills make for very interesting gameplay. One of the few drawbacks is that the enemy types could be a bit more varried but the fast-paced, often strategic gameplay more than makes up for this. Overal, though, the game's aesthetics are what sets it appart from many other of it's kind. The art style is strange and interesting and the narrative holds you attention all the way until the end. While the possible endings to the game rely more on a single choice as they happen and less on player behavior in-game, Bastion poses a genuinely tricky and philosophically puzzling choice for the player at the finish.

While probably not for everyone, this one's a pretty interesting little gem. Combines simple yet addictive action rpg dungeon crawling with some fun item-selling games. The idea of running an item shop might sound boring for a video game, but it's really addictive fun and funny to boot.
