The 82nd Today are specialized in plane jumps while the 101st is focused mainly on helicopter drops which are more dangerous and stubborn.
The 82nd where in D-Day attacking Sicily. Bad Winds and flak forced the 82nd to drop at the docks where very highly armed Italian soldiers where deployed the 82nd lost alot of men in that drop. The 82nd then pushed up threw the city and made sure the Italians did not out flank the amphibous soldiers on Day 5 of D-Day.
