Finally, a worthy successor to one of the greatest games of all time. Like the original DX, there is no "right" way to play. Every scenario has multiple approaches, styles, etc. Be sure to explore thoroughly to fully flesh out a well-written world and story.
Borderlands is a solid game that's worth the price. It offers a unique visual style and a good balance of action and humor that most will appreciate. The setting will definitely entertain any fans of "post-apocalyptic wasteland" games, though the setting is truly a barren planet. You play as one of four characters who each have unique playstyles, abilities, and weapon proficiencies (Roland the Soldier, Mordecai the Hunter, Lilith the Siren, and Brick the Berserker). Your character literally steps off a bus on the planet Pandora in search of the mysterious Vault. Along the way, you complete quests offered by NPCs and various challenges.
The single player campaign was fun and offers some replayability, especially with the DLC (most of which is worthwhile). However, the real fun is in co-op campaigns. I cannot encourage this enough - find a friend to play with and the game becomes much more fun!
Why aren't you playing this game? Is it because you don't like fun? Do you not like free things? Does a continuous stream of free additional content really make you uncomfortable? Scientific research shows that 100% of individuals who do not play this game are terrorists and douchebags.
