Natural Selection 2 is the sequel to one of the best mods from Half Life. After several difficult years in production the wait has truly been worthwile with Unknown Worlds delivering a terrific multiplayer experience for those willing to invest the time in learning a game which isn't newbie friendly. The engine is functional if not state of the art but the gameplay is exceptional.

Like the original it blends RTS with FPS, with one player on either side taking on the role of Commander, building and strategising for their team. With two very different sides, this game provides players the opportunity to experience two very different games.

Hands down better than any other multiplayer FPS this year.

What do you get when you combine the mechanics of Deus Ex HR and the Thief series? Its called Dishonored. One of the best games of 2012 this game offers a compelling gameplay experience set in a steampunk world that reminds the gamer of Bioshock.

It offers players choices; you can either sneak around, using silent lethal or non-lethal skills, or you can go on a murderous rampage, using a plethora of brutal tricks. While the narrative can be lacking at times and the ending is a bit of letdown the gameplay is fun and the choices you make result in different outcomes. It never quite reaches the heights of Deus Ex HR or Thief 1 or 2 but its well worth playing.

GTA-esque open world game set in Hong Kong. Has a storyline that could of come straight out of a John Woo movie.
Combat is mostly focused on hand to hand combat rather than guns, with a fun fighting mechanics system which has similarities to Assassin's Creed.
The port is ok, bit prone to the occasional glitch and crash and the camera feels strange but its a fun romp through China town.
