Buy it for DayZ, stay for cooperative military ops as real and detailed as you can get without going through Bootcamp. Ambushes are awesome, firefights are intense, and the sound of treads will make you scream for AT. It's got bugs up the wazzoo, aim is slow and laggy compared to mainstream shooters, and movement is hilariously mechanical and decidedly not-fluid, but the veracity of the engine makes it worth it in my opinion.

The most fun you'll ever have reducing the world to radioactive slag! Beyond that overly narrow superlative, it's a great game to play casually among friends, but beware the nefarious, conniving AI's.
