A group of friends who play ArmA games together, mainly OFP CTI and Arma2CO with ACE and ACRE. Also, increasingly DayZ in both Namalsk and Chernarussia.
You know any of the members, like to roll realistically and have ArmA2CO with ACE and ACRE, or perhaps you favor DayZ? Join the group and come play with us.
If you have no idea what ArmA is, google it. It is a realistic military simulation which is also used by real armed forces for combined arms training. Great fun if you are willing to put time into it!
On DayZ: We find it frustrating that instead of trying to survive, people strive to kill. When we play, we share loot, operate as a group and always try to help out fresh spawns get into the game better. Is it sharing food, giving vital supplies or even a firearm. We avoid death and we avoid shooting at first, but we also get together and vigilante the shit out of some known posses that are terrorizing some regions. Sound fun?
On classic, war-based Arma games: We believe that the average game of ArmA has way too many Darth Vaders and not enough Stormtroopers. Fourteen choppers flying while couple random stragglers are trying to capture AO's. Or having gazillion radio channels in use, while only couple populate the server?
Is this how we should wage war? No.
We roll as riflemen, doing the basic stuff. Lugging rifles and capturing main targets on foot when no one else does it. Forming squads of riflemen instead of flying armadas of choppers that have no one to transport.
Or maybe we crew tanks, taking a platoon of tanks with full crews and sounding true the meaning of "combined arms."
And this does not mean that we would not grab choppers. We do and often. But we won't take fifteen transport choppers to carry 12 infantry around. We crew the choppers and provide efficient transport. And Gunships aren't meant to be used as sole-manned melee-weapons that get close to the enemy to grab kills.
We keep them crewed, kiting kilometers away from the target zone to stay alive and to provide cover for other elements.
Granted, our playstyle might be a little slow-paced compared to others, maybe a little "less fun", since we try to do the grunt work. Our tank drivers don't get kills at all, and usually the most "special" weapon someone out of our infantry squads gets is when he is handed the satchel charge.
But we have fun when playing like the Military Simulation should be played. If you think that you'd prefer this gamestyle, join us! I do not mean that this is the only way, but one of the more peculiars. Not for everyone, but certainly for some people.
