Its pretty good. It plays more like X-com or battletech. I like it so far, although it is overpriced. $60 for over a decade old game engine is really criminal, I'd wait for a sale.

Yes this game is everything you wanted from Civ 5, but was missing, or just poorly done.

Perfect blend of civ + crusader kings

Ya there is a lot to learn, think of it as hardcore civ.

You need this DLC in your life, now! Seriously stop what you are doing and get this. Omg wow the best DLC. Literally in the first battle you have Infantry with RPGs ambushing and killing a t-62 in it's side, you have have F-5 Tigers coming in looking all bad ass, sounding all bad ass, and then dropping mother f-ing bombs right on target. BOOOM no more t-62 tank, oh also BMP with ATGM one shotting t-62 in the side is a thing of beauty. Watch all of what I just described in just 1 minute, then buy it:

The good:

1) Overall great concept; Battle royal type game (pubg) with up to 3-man teams, zombies, and objectives.

2) Amazing graphics.

3) Fun time period and location (early 1900s, think wild west guns but in the swamp)

The bad:

1) Gun game-play mechanics: this game shooting mechanics are the worst I've seen in a FPS. The game has major registry issues. Think CS:Source day 1 bad shot registration problems.

A major issue is the AD, AD spam. This means just strafing left and right in a gunfight quickly and repetitively. Because of the poor gun play mechanics this tactic makes you nearly untouchable.

Gun fights therefor are luck based and you shoot in the general area of the AD-AD spam and hope you get lucky because spending time to stand still and aim not only is a waste of time, but you will likely be headshotted for standing still for too long.

Because of this the default tactic is to run and gun, ambushes are generally not successful, so players have no fear of running in the open. In fact, they prefer it because then they now know where you are hiding.

The developers know about the problem and have taken steps to help but it still remains a major game breaking problem.

2) Hackers. Jeez I know I will always encounter blatant cheaters in every online game but why are there so many in this game? You are guaranteed to be aimbotted, wallhacked, or both at least once a day guaranteed. I'm talking blood rank 1 white shirt hunters head shooting you while running from 156m away through foliage and you can't even see the guy.

3) Gun economy is terrible. I'm a decent player I generally get 2.0 KDA but you will still run out of money constantly and be stuck with white shirt free hunters with the worst gear.

TLDR; Great concept and graphics, terrible execution. Hackers, AD spam, bad gun registry, and bad economy make for a very frustrating game. Try back later when/if they fix these issues.

After playing this DLC you will ask yourself how did the germans ever lose WW2 after panthers were in production? The panther is tank god. It is OP! Honestly give me one panther for every 1km of the front line and no russian tank would ever get close. I guess it was all the mechanical failures that doomed them that can't be modeled in this game.

I only lost 4 panthers. One to mines (opps), 2 from air attack(IL2 OP broken), and one to a side shot from a t-34 I thought was dead. The battlefield was littered with t-34 hulls.

Panthers front armor is better than a tiger! Which was already amazing. Its only weakness is the side, and you will get one shotted in the side. Very easy to cover your flanks with infantry and when in doubt just back up let them come to you in your mightly panther.

Compared to the previous graviteam tacitcs : operation star it is worth it to purchase this one.

Graphics are slightly updated, the most noticeable was the artillery effects.

The new static map trenches are fun to play in and are significantly better than self-made dug in ones.

Planes are OP death machines now. Before they were lackluster, maybe scoring one tank or field gun kill if you lucky. Now they cripple an entire tank platoon. It will kill 3 or 4 vehicles and damage another 2. Good thing they only come once a day a now instead of every battle.

The AI is slightly updated. It still loves to waste artillery shells on flag points with blind pre-planned fire at the start of the round. On the attack It does better with combining infantry and tanks but needs work still. The attacks are not full force but one at a time. With only one or two units supporting each other at a time. The "line" problem when the computer would have the infantry attack in marching line has been worked on. It still happens but only occasionally. Counter battery have been greatly improved. After firing artillery guns or AT field guns the AI will reposition them to avoid artillery fire. No longer can I scout and then call in 10 min off map artillery strike and expect it to kill anything on the last known position.

This game could be so much better with multiplayer.

Overall a very imbalanced game. The imbalances make the game very un-fun. Funny enough it doesn't matter if you are a survior or a killer you will incounter major problems with the game mechanics.

Take a typical random match game as a survior. Over half the killers have some game broken mechanic that once you learn it makes killing easy mode. While there aren't any good survior perks that are similiar. Hag, hex traps means you can never unhook a survivor by yourself. Wraith goes invisable and provides no warning. Pig crouches and provides no warning and she has a huge ambush lunge attack, in addition she CCs the enitre team with reverse bear traps. What is worse is you can take the most OP perks (BBQ and Chill, Hex ruin, etc) and combine them all onto one killer. The only way to overcome this is through teamwork with your fellow random players. Which never happens. What does happen is the killer makes short work of the team and if you are lucky one survior may escape through the trap door if they find the RNG location in time.

Now having enough of the survior mess you try killer. Killer is generally ok and fun when facing randoms. The problem is when you facing a corridinated team using voice chat. These people know how to bully the hunter. They are toxic and follow the hunter being a bully. Usually the team has 2-3 flash lights. Whenever you try to pick up a downed player on the flashlight people pop up and blind you and there is no way to avoid it. While the other 2 work away at the generators. They will also play infinite juke games with pallets and windows never moving from a small section of the map. In addition they will body block you from putting the survior on the hook and play a revolving door always presenting a target or blocking your from you goal. Basically instead of running away from the hunter like a horror game should work they run towards the hunter because they know there isn't anything you can do as the hunter. However the only way this works is though percise teamwork and communication.

So no matter how you play the game you will encounter frustration, toxicity, and generally an un-fun game. The only way to overcome this is to never play random games but only invite only games where you persoanlly know all the surviors and the killer and can enforce rules and ban certain OP champs and perks to bring balance to the game. Another alternative is to artifically keep your rank low by loosing on purpose a lot to avoid some of the problems.

TLDR; Game is extremely unbalanced which causes it to be frustrating and un-fun. If you like to troll people this is your game because there are many ways the game allows for you to troll. If you have 4 friends you can count on to play with you then it is a good game because you can enforce rules and ban the OP perks and killers, and game behaviors.

If you are a fan of strategy games buy this, you need it in your life. Similar to total war series where there is the turn based phase (called operation phase) and the real time phase (called tactical battle phase). So think total war but WWII and this is the game. However the scale is much smaller as you are fighting for a single city municipality region instead of an entire country. Also no base building but you do get reinforcements. The AI does a fair enough job, although you will wish they made this game multiplayer. This is a slow strategy game like sins of a solar empire where patience pays off. My only gripe is on the line of sight system, I swear to all things explodie that I should be able to shoot something but yet my guys are like nope can't do boss. Also pro-tip wait for sales as otherwise $15 per DLC is kinda a rip....All in all Great Game 8.5/10

Civ V is perhaps the pinnacle on turned based strategy games. With the gods + kings expansion it rivals the more hardcore civ IV. One unit per tile along with hexagonal tiles makes for interesting and tactically invigorating battles. No longer will the bigger stack of dooms rule the battlefield! Rivers, hills, and line of sight all play factors in combat now. Multiplayer with friends is fun and interesting and the AI will be a good learning tool to get the hang of the game. A game worth buying if you enjoy turn based strategy.
