I don't know what you've been told, but UT is effing legendary! This is by far the most fun one that I have played so far. If you want a fun gorefest of an FPS then this is by far one of the best choices! GET IT!
If you don't have it or don't like it you are a douche and should kill yourself. Buy the game, install it AND PLAY IT. Failing to do so will result in an unsatisfactory mark on your official testing record, followed by death.
