Left 4 Dead 2 takes the formula for the first game, ups the graphics, incrases the weapon variety, and changes the scene completely from going to inner city New York to outskirts and suburbs of teh deep south. A fun sequel to the original, and in my opinion, worth the price if it is on sale.

Half-Life by Sierra Studios is, without a doubt, one of the most developed first person shooter's of its time. With one of the few games to ever spawn a sequel superior to the original, Half-Life is groundbreaking by establishing the framework for future games to base its content, gameplay, and mechanics off of. Half-Life comes highly reccomended as an original and well-aged game that is still worth the time and money to play to this very day, over a decade after its original release.

Day of Defeat: Source emerges strong in it's transformation into the source engine, still delivering strong in class-based, online gameplay with enhanced graphics. Although suffering similar registry problems as Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source weighs superior, beginning with the older audience it caters to. Highly customizable client-side content is simply an additional perk to what this game has to offer, ranging from social public gaming to the competetive realism community, similar to Counter-Strike's style of competetive gameplay. With a stronger aspect on the social than the sheer cutthroat competition, Day of Defeat: Source is a fantastic purchase for anyone looking to hit the ranks of a military-styled unit or simply run-and-gun in an array of weapon choices while telling stories with other gamers.
