It took me quite a while to start playing Team Fortress 2. Just after I bought the game my computer died and I had to wait until recently to get a new computer and start playing the game.
The holiday events have really added to my enjoyment of the game (which was already very high).
The Halloween Hauntdead Scream Fortress is one of the most fun events I have ever experienced in a game. Nothing has been so much fun as running around and discovering a Haunted Present. Though most people had integrity, followed rules and cooperated with others, some people would cheat and steal just to get the Haunted Halloween Gift, showing me the true nature of some individuals. While there were a LOT of good people, it only took a few (and often just one) to ruin it for the rest of the players.
Been playing FPS from the start, with Doom as well as space flying sims.

Members are dedicated to the team above all else. In order to overcome the robot hordes, we must work together, fulfilling the role that our team calls for, even if that is not our favorite class.
And never EVER lose site of the bomb carrier.
So far, it's been great. You can choose how to handle each mission, whether with hacking, stealthy or go in guns a blazing. It is certainly a worthy sucessor to the orignal game.
I was surprised at how much fun (and how funny) this game was. An extremely non-contrived puzzle game.
I fantastic update on an all time classic. All of the game play is there from the original, with updated graphics which add to the fun nature of the game. New maps and game play modes make this game surpass the original.
Be warned, this is not deathmatch. If you just want to cower in a corner and snipe the other team while your team struggles to make their objective, you won't as asset to your team. It's called TEAMfortress for a reason. What puts this game over the top is working together. If you want deathmath, go else where.
Not sure if the the drops, hats and crafting really makes it a better game, but I would guess my time with this game has surpased how much time I spent playing the original.
