I played Ants as a kid in the late eighties. Ten-Year-Old-Me liked it, but notes that it does devolve hard by the 4-hour mark. Justice demands that I tell you only the cartoon-style artwork is original to the game. The scary clip art "upgrades" are... scary.
I can tell you the Ants shareware/demo was thrown in on a LOT of computers around the time that Windows was first introduced, so there are indeed two versions but this appears to be complete. "There's no fool like an old fool" - I may just shell out the 99 cents. (again, grin)
HONK IF YOU REMEMBER ALL-TEXT "LEMONADE TYCOON" XD
