Good little bullet hell under a Sid Meier's pirates and Vampires survivors theme. Good time burner, still being worked on 11/25/23.

Good game, BETA branch allows for testing of all features. Twitch integration is fun, overall a good gladiator management Sim.

A gem from the past (2000) that'll give you many enjoyable hours of fun. Let's hope they make a reboot of this and it being good. Fingers crossed

Five years going on six and 60% complete? Don't come back if the early access tag isn't gone, if at ever it does drop. They are purposely dragging their feet. Game is very shallow and has many roadblocks where promised content is suppose to be.

I recently had a question about traits and characters. Took to the web and looked into the kick starter and apparently three years before the kick starter they had been working on it. So in total almost six years have been placed on this game. Then there's how many hands on deck....three per say. Programmer, designer and marketing? You then need to see expenses that are available . They started base game at 40k and pulled in 260k plus anything along the way from 2019 kick starter. The store pages are packed with nothing but images to give the false impression that game has content. All placeholders.

Talk bad about their game and they will remove you from forums. There acting just like Digital Homicide. Do not support this developer.

Edit-Steam isn't allowing me to post comments below. Keep getting an error occurred when trying to reply to posts. I'll remove this if it let's me reply to comments. I can reply to my other reviews fine as well as other threads but not this one. Odd

Games great up until the point you start getting high level monsters plowing through your mazes and defenses. Sure it's called Rise to Ruins but that can't be the end goal of this game? To play for a few hours only to have the AI kill you off. Masochist will love this game besides peaceful, sandbox and custom.

Here's my problem, you need buildings to create certain characters. The AI doesn't need any, just summons tier monsters to what the threat level is. So if you got corruption all but gone the AI can still summon monsters without graveyards or amount of claimed land.

See those mountains the corruption was next to? Yep Dwarven nightmares still in there and spawning mobs along the edges. That dense forest that hasn't been cleared, slender man and his gang are still in there. There's an ocean next to them, yep it spread out there as well. Oh that explains the level 40+ monsters that randomly Jesus their way out of the ocean.

There are two paths to go in combating the corruption. Fire pit early and surround them. Or play the three above mentioned settings (peaceful, sandbox or custom). Fire pitting can fail and split the corruption into two lands that slowly eat the map. And playing on those three other settings is pointless unless your testing strats out.

In most games you are given tools to combat the AI. Here you get jack as the enemy scales in level and nothing you build will safe guard you from being one hit by 40+ leveled mobs.

Yep title of game says it all, Rise to Ruins literally.

Edit~Game is meant to be literal. Rise to Ruin, there is no fun in not winning.

HOMM3 meets simplicity and engrossing game writing. Sure the game could stand to get more attention in visuals, combat and more game depth. But overall the game offers a real good platform. Resource management, character management and very creative story writing that cannot be described but seen for one's self. Two stories that have stuck with me were, the child trying to get a ball off a roof and the dead horse criminal. There are a ton of other events that have actually left a mark on me that few games can do these days. That's how well the writing goes. The developers of this game created a free from actual day moralities and stuck to making a game true to their own ideas.

I only wish there were creator tools and workshop to boost this even further. But it still has given me plenty of value for the wallet. As well as creative stories that stuck with me and gave me a chuckle from time to time.

Edit - Game still gets updates very nice.

No hand holding, fight or flight survival game. Too many games these days follow a cookie cutter design. This game actually forces you to learn how to aim, caculate and manage resources. Hunters and rogues are deadly, wolves, bears and cougars even more so. You won't load into the game guns blazing, you will die. Game is pretty shallow but is gaining depth with only one developer working on it in his spare time. The price is good for what content is currently in right now. WaB

Five bucks? Yeah it's a fun space game. Shallow right now but early access, yep that one. But for five bucks it's a fun creative starship builder. Glory to the Builder, the Master Builder.

Peter has two EA titles going. One guy working on two passion projects. He's done a good job and as far as I'm concerned it has panned out good. Eleven bucks for a game, yeah it's worth a buy. And on top of that there are features in the works to come out once he gets them ironed out. What people need to understand is that the updates will come out in time and early access really has no standards. Most the negative reviews come from the impatient. Just know it's one guy working on two EA titles and he may not pop out content updates every month. I'll give Peter a thumbs up as I feel he's not a fly by night con. Cut the guy some slack, report bugs and suggestions. Theme Hospital meets Tavern tycoon. Looking forward to the final product Peter, keep up the good work.
