The small-group tactics and loot collection make this one a great game to try out. Buy it, play it, love it.
The costume-collecting mechanic is fun, the graphics are cute and fun to look at, and the writing is better than I expected. This is the one thing I might like learn to like about Halloween.
Spiral Knights is a F2P (Free to Play) game, mostly revolving around dungeon-running, weapon- and armor-crafting, and offering some character customization as you craft and create items for your character. Think of it as World of Warcraft with a streamlined/stripped down interface, focused on its most basic parts and wrapped in a cute, quasi-sci-fi aesthetic. Is it fun? Sure, although it doesn't require a lot of thought. Investing an hour's time into running one of the randomly-generated dungeons is fairly painless. Plus, it's free; can't beat free, right?
