This game surprised me. I went into it thinking it was going to be a game like Universe Sandbox. Instead I got something quite different.
At the start of the game, I was able to control an asteroid and navigate it around in what feels like a universe as infinite as the real thing. One of the first missions I was given was to crash into a planet where dinosaurs are discovering how to travel through space. The reason for this is because "space traveling dinosaurs are a bad thing."
As I played I was able to crash into other asteroids and grow my asteroid bigger until it became a planet. As time went on the planet was able to support life that would spawn space ships to help protect me. I was also able to grab asteroids as moon and had the ability to absorb them and become a bigger planet. Doing this eventually turned my planet into a sun. I was able to do this again as a sun, but with planets instead of asteroids.
This game is a lot of fun and I recommend giving it a try.
Majesty is one of my all time favorite games. You are in control of a fantasy kingdom but you have no control over any of the units. You are only able to send servants out to build/upgrade structures, set taxes, tell places to research stuff, and set rewards to try to encourage units to do what you want.
Most of the units have their own names and personalities. They do what they want and sometimes it seems like no amount of gold can make them do what you want. They will go hunting, explore, loot treasure, buy items, group together, and go home all on their own. There is also an xp and leveling system that provides the units with more health and other abilities.
There is a campaign with a variety of levels to play. The levels are randomly generated so there is a lot of replay value. There is also online multi-player.
Majesty is an old game, but a really fun one. I recommend this game over the sequel.
I really enjoyed playing Aquaria.
The game play is like a cross between Ecco the Dolphin and Metroid. There is a huge underwater open world to explore and a lot of abilities to acquire to help you travel through this world.
The difficulty is deceptive. It looks like a pleasant easy game but it's not, it is quite challenging. There are many boss (a lot are optional that you find while exploring) and most have their own unique trick to beating them.
The environment can almost feel like a bullet-hell at times with all the projectiles being shot at you. The music and atmosphere are great and very fitting for the game. The graphics are also very nice.
The story is probably above average, it's not disappointing, but it's not something I would praise a being unique either, it was enjoyable though and kept me interested.
Overall, I highly recommend Aquaria.
