A great game, ruined by non-existent support and a capricious developer team. Everything about the game is completely fantastic and thoughtful and fills a niche that no other multiplayer game really captures. I couldn't say enough nice things about it.

All of that comes apart though when you encounter any problems. Did a glitch eat your stuff? Tough. Sending a request to the support group will result in nothing. Did your class get nerfed right out from under you with no explanation? Too bad, buy a class change scroll from the cash store for $40, it's your own fault for having played the class.

If the game's developers had any kind of meaningful dialogue with the players instead of acting like the invisible hand of an angry god, if the community staff actually fostered some kind of two-way communication instead of just passing on the sparse edicts from higher-ups, and if the support team had the people and resources to fix problems for players, Wakfu would be amazing.

Instead I warn people against investing their time or money in this game, and it's a terrible shame because it has brilliant potential.

That's french developing for you, pal. Those frog eaters are granted with talents in the fields of art and design that only japs can challenge, but they inherited the japs' problem of 10 years ago with advertising their stuff. Japs still have it, but they gradually become more open and agressive with their culture propagation, and french it seems just don't intrested in the outside world at all. They do breath-taking, spectatular pieces of game art, and don't even bother with advertising it further their own language domain.
I'm sure their tech support is working, but (like it was with dofus) it really cares only about french audience.

Funny, this sounds like all mmo's out now. When classes get nerft, they give free skill resets fyi.
While i type this he is playing Marvel Heros 2015. By far is much worse then Wakfu in terms of development and bad support.

I COMPLETELY agree with this review. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! This game is TRASH!!! I used to love this game. Played it WAY back when it first hit closed beta. I was playing Dofus back when it was an indie flash game. It just keeps getting worse and worse. Like the above review mentioned: It did fill a niche, and there were some really great things about, hence why I kept finding myself coming back. It got worse and worse every time I came back. I quit this last time because I had to pay a monthly fee & there where tons of pay to win/cosmetics. Got really sick of double paying. Now they FINALLY made it free to play and completely revamped the game making it TRASH! The stat system is shit now. I used to spec all MP early game on my enu then transform into a drezerker and get hella ap out of it. Now you have to choose 1 ap OR mp and thats all you get! Not to mention the rest of the stat system is trash. Everything is trash now all the way down to the little bonuses you get in battles.

the last time i played this game i found .... it was not free to play .... after a certan point it would not let me move in to new areas to lvl up ... unless u payed ... been a while sense i played

The class change scroll costs 1000 gameshop money. Which is roughly 3 CND.. ._.

you are right, but the game itself sucks too as the toon was about 4 heroes going trough their powers to defeat somebody i can't remember the name of, this is literrally everything changed, they should've called it something else than a fantastic cartoon, instead they just ruined it

They are french what do you expect, i played dofus since it first came out i played this for a good couple of years (on and off). And in that entire time the dev team just constantly say a big F U to the little guys and only listen to the end gamers that complain about the PVP, so instead of slightly changing one characters spell, they will alter 8 spells on 4 classes switch the elements around and stick a huge d***o up yo ass and expect you to be happy about it. This game is beautiful i just wish they wouldn't hurt my bumhole every major update.
