Alex Mercer may have the character of a block of wood at times, but then so does War from Darksiders. That doesn't stop me from liking him. He can kick ass like few can. The freedom of movement this game provides is truly liberating. And once upgraded, Alex's sheer power is staggering and awesome to use. It's certainly inventive in some areas and I enjoyed hacking my foes apart or divebombing them and tossing cars at helicopters. The Government Expenditure meter was a nice little thing too. I loved charging Uncle Sam huge amounts for my mayhem and slaughter. I woul've appreciated more unlockables though. Still, I can't wait to own the sequel.
