Are you a Crossfire X-Tremist?

This group is for the elites of one of Half-Life's original maps : Crossfire. Some gamers believe this map takes little or no strategy. If you are new to this map, you may think that as well. Once you become an X-tremist you'll learn that this map in fact does take strategy and skill. This is a type of map that you can't stay in one spot for more than a second, you have to be moving at all times, and must guard tau at all cost. Long Jump and Gauss is ideal, as well as learning all the nukes. Here are some tips i've listed.

1. If your not near a LJ go for the gauss, this is key for filling fast even without the longjump.

2. Once you have both tau and LJ, your ready to go. Find a route that you feel comfortable with, but use a couple different routes, or your competetion will eventually be able to predict your main route. SWITCH IT UP.

3. This may sound lame, but if your competetion is 100 100 with full gauss ammo you might wanna grab yourself an egon, it's a very effective/powerful weapon. But only use it when you have to. If your a Crossfire player like myself, you know that getting spawn fucked is NOT fun. But use this strategy as a last resort to take control EX. No rpg/tau that is in your reach.... Egon may be your only hope to gaining back control. (unless one of your spawn points is near a tau)

4. If your full and find yourself on a pwning rampage, be sure to check your health and tau juice. Some players tend to get excited when they get 3 or more kills in a row. Take a second to jump in one of the windows for Tau juice/hev. The map is full of that stuff.

You have to be the type of player that has patients.... Dont get discouraged if your getting beaten pretty bad in the beginning. I was losing by almost 40 frags with 11 minutes left and still came back and won. I guess thats why they call it "Crossfire"
