Mass Effect mixes the quality storytelling and character building you would expect from a Bioware RPG with the pulse pounding action you get from third person shooters set in a vast sci-fi galaxy to lose yourself in and come back to adventure in again and again. The gameplay systems allow you to play your commander shepard how you see fit while shaping the story based off of your decisions at key moments in the game. The shooting and cover system is a bit rough around the edges but this minor gripe aside mass effect is one of the best games of all time and I highly recommend it to anybody that wants to experience a game that manages to achieve having both an amazing amount of action set piece moments and an engaging story with great characters that keeps you coming back for more.
