Hotline Miami is probably a 16-bit style demake of an alternate reality's strategy game made by David Lynch and Suda 51, based loosely on the classic film Taxi Driver, only in this alternate reality Taxi Driver was written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Emerick Pressburger and Michael Powell. It plays a bit like Hitman on super fast forward, or a real-time XCOM played with a hangover. It's both smarter and dumber than it looks at first glance. It may be the most interesting and fun game of 2012.
