Hey there :) I've just seen your comment now. Steam is new-ish to me. That picture was taken before the Zodding. Ten years with Charsi for repairs, one socket from Larzuk and one Zod, now it's invincible!

Maybe one of these times we're both online (after midnight my time) we could actually talk to each other like some people do. I read about it on the interwebs, that people talk to each other.

A cutesy, simplistic RPG? Meh. Tell me Tim Schafer's had a hand in development? Well, as little of Psychonauts that I've played, that's an interesting factoid but doesn't sell me. All the moves in battle have action commands a la Super Mario RPG?

Now I'm listening.

This is an engaging game. Cute, but Tim Schafer cute with adult overtones. Like Psychonauts, the landscapes are built for exploration and look great. Battles couldn't be any more basic, but the need to react to quick time-esque button presses to either boost attacks or minimize incoming damage keeps you on your toes. Each costume you acquire is unique and works differently in battles, making it fun to experiment and find the perfect combination for your play style.

It's short, no more than six hours, but it's actually the perfect length. Maybe it's not worth the full asking price, but if Costume Quest comes up in a Steam sale... grab it. And let candy gluttony take you on a fun little journey.

"I really like the game, but I couldn’t find the stupid cake."

Pong + reactive electronic music + unforgiving scoring system + online leaderboards

This game is brief and the basic concept is extremely simple, no doubt about it. It features a grand total of three songs/stages, and all you do is move your paddle up and down the screen to block... uh, blocks. Considering the standard sale price, you might think there would be a lack of content.

Oh, how wrong you'd be. This is a type of game where you don't simply beat all three stages and never load it up again. BIT.TRIP BEAT doesn't need nor demand perfection; ultimately it will be YOU who seeks a perfect run. Every time you play, you'll always feel like you could have and truly SHOULD have done better. Replaying stages is inevitable. These songs will haunt your dreams.

Complicated rhythms. Tricky targets. And each song is ~15 minutes long, increasing the difficulty in order to make a perfect run.

Ultimately, this game should have been called BIT.TRIP ADDICTION
