This is easily in my top three indie games of all time. Absolutely brilliant design and gameplay. Very customizable, easily moddable, infinitely playable, and has such great charm and music to it. I cannot recommend this game enough.

If you are a shooter and RPG fan then you owe it to yourself to play this game. This is my favourite game of all time, and one of the best RPGs ever. It has some cliches, and the story isn't incredibly original, but the universe itself feels alive and deep. There is also a focus on the characters, and at times it feels more like an hang out story which is always fun. This is also one of few games I've played where characters can actually die permenantly. In Mass Effect 2 you can't just charge at enemies guns blazing and win, you actually have to use cover, and if you put it on harder difficulties then tactical use of abilities and your companions also becomes necessary for success. You also get to make meaningful choices in this game, which are often more than just a choice between evil and good. Your choices will carry on to the next game, which is why ME3 is one of my most anticipated games of all time. The Mass Effect universe is one of the best sci fi universes out there!

Best game I played this year easily. It's much better than Fallout 3, and has a lot of cool moments in it that you discover when you least expect it.
