(Update: Average may be closer to $10. Even so, that'd be less than $17/month on games. Not difficult if you have a job. Costs almost the same for a single WoW subscription).
I only buy during sales. Also lots of cheap games and compilations. For example, id Software pack at 50% off was $35 for 22 games ($1.60 each). All old Valve games came free with my Half-Life CD key. Etc. Average probably around $7 ea. Collected over five years.
