Early Access Review
This genre never really appealed to me, but seen it done in a D2-esque fashion finally convinced me to give it a shot... And yeah, it's pretty fun. The OST slaps and of course the style sure is something, too. :)

There's plenty of complexity involved with all the characters, levels, potions and gear, so there's plenty of longevity. With most of the characters you kind of just stack crit, but you don't necessarily have to. Once you get your bearings, lots of builds can work and you can easily set your own challenges.

The concept of mining and fending off waves of enemies in a cool robotic spider was really compelling to me, but unfortunately, the execution is kind of lacking. If you're the type of person that values a game by money/time spent ratio, I guess this is decent enough, but if you're not...

The game play loop is pretty solid... until it isn't. Once you beat the main story (which took me ~ 12 hours), there just isn't enough content to carry this as a roguelike. Yes, you get weapons and upgrades randomly, but the map is always pretty much identical and most importantly very finite. That works nicely for the story, but not so nicely after finishing the story.

Doing so removes the periodic boss fights (it makes sense story-wise, but it removes the only real pressure there was) and you get left with just the waves of enemies which are more of an annoyance rather than a challenge (depending on the weapons you get, I guess). I played on "hard" and I'm not really interested in playing on "insane", because there's nothing interesting left for me to do.

So what you're left with after beating the story is a samey mining experience (you do have persistent upgrades which make it more enjoyable - some are even mandatory to progress) that hits a wall (heh) after about two hours where there's nothing left to mine and all you can do is wait for enemy waves to come until you either become bored and decide to end it, or just die.

You get all the upgrades, eventually, but only 4 out of 7 weapons (plus one default one) per run, so I guess there's your replayability.

Seems like the story will continue with a DLC, and while even from the scraps you get it seems interesting, it's probably not enough for me to come back.

Well, the name speaks for itself... :) Expect a lot of feet, though.

It's quite long and features quite a lot of very well done scenes (both sub/dom, but you get locked in into a route right at the start). The scene unlocks are tied to the story - which is quite modest and grounded - and therefore unmissable (you don't have to hunt for them, either), so that's also nice.
As far as the rest of the game play goes, the map is very small and easy to navigate and the combat is not overtuned, though it's not exactly hard at any stage of the game

I finally bit the bullet and bought the region restricted version just to post a review I wrote like 5 years ago but couldn't post, since I'm not allowed to interact with the global version in that way... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ region locking bs. I got like 95% in the game back then and eh, I might 100% this version at some point...

10/10, if you're into stealth games, Dishonored is very much a must play.

I always considered Dishonored as being an iconic stealth game, and having finished it, I can only agree. The worldbuilding and storytelling/writing is very good and the chaos (morality) system and its effects on a playthrough really spice things up and make the already interesting setting even more so. This was one of the few games that got me invested in the story and its characters; made me want to interact with pretty much everything I came across and exhaust all character dialogue (Cecelia and Callista are quite lovely).

Gameplay is also very solid, there's plenty of ways to get to objectives, moving about feels nice. Combat is ok, but you wouldn't expect deep combat from a stealth game. Though you do get quite a plethora of weaponry/gadgets, so you can go nuts, if you want to. You also get several skills, including passives, with Blink (a short teleport) being the basic one and it's also the most useful one. If you know what you're doing, you can get by just fine without ever using the other active skills, but that is not to say they're not fun to use in the right situations.

This game strikes a good balance between the actual "game" and the "content". The management can be surprisingly difficult and easy to mess up leading to starting over (or at the very least loading up a sufficiently old save).

While it's pretty short (under two hours on the first playthrough if you don't mess up), there's none of the usual annoying grind, which makes it more than ok in my book. Naturally it isn't exactly packed with that many scenes/cgs, but they're plenty hot, so who cares. :)

It's hard not to compare this to Noxurtica's other and bigger games - namely BDSM Apocalypse and Survival on Amazonia - in terms of scope and price, but if anything it goes to show how those two are generously priced given how much you get.

An unusually high amount of bang (heh) for your buck with this one. Good scenario, a lot of variety in the girls, lots of fun. :)

Her dom energy and narrative is pretty nice, but otherwise something feels off about this one... Also, using human "tools" is a bit of a miss.
