It's good, but not as good as the originals mainly becuase there aren't different replies to all of the dialogue options when you get the option.
eg. "I need to get to X to save Elaine", "I need to get to X to stop LeChuck" and "I need to get to X to work on my tan" gets truncated to "I need to get to X" with a generic response by the npc.
Still pretty good otherwise. The difficulty seems to be about what it was(ie I had to consult a walkthrough for a few places).
Sanctum is ok in single player but really shines in co-op.
There are a lot of small things that have been added to the game that increases it's fun, for example if you're near a mortar when it fires your screen will shake, and when you move through a slow field not only do you slow down, the music slows down as well.
If you muli-jump you move faster than if you single jump, which is a nice plus(to me anyway, brings some nostalgia of earlier games).
The few cons I can think of is it takes a long time to complete a level(about an hour) and the lack of maps(only 5 at this time).
The developer is active on the steam forum and is taking suggestions/watching for bug reports.
I would buy it again(when it's on sale).
